star38 - CEO JJ gets clowned

So this new company star38 is the big buzz in the telco world right now. They offer a caller ID/CPN spoofing service to bill collectors and private investigators.

The CEO of this company is completely clueless. He claims that he's not using VoIP or a PRI when we're all pretty sure that he's using VoIP. He's actually bold enough to say that his technique is legal while the "means in which people are spoofing caller ID over VOIP is illegal right now".

Honestly I don't know what to say about this except that this guy probably has no clue as to what's going on behind the scenes. To prove the point that he's a lost soul in the world of VoIP you'll have to keep reading.

It all started when Natas called him out. Jason Jepson, the CEO of star38, was quick with a comeback. The voice of reason steps in when Kevin Poulsen laid down the law.

I'm not sure what JJ was thinking when he posted that message but it clearly illustrates that he has no concept of what VoIP is and/or how it works. My suggestion is to keep as far away from this company as possible and see what happens. If this guy is running the show like this and doesn't have someone else as his technical backup I'd say they'll be out of business in a few months.
