My VMB
Ok, my VMB I think is pretty much
worthless. I basically just get lots of two second long hangup
calls on it and that's really boring.
Sometimes I get a weird one though. Now, I encourage you all to spam my voicemail box with weird/pointless stuff. I'll be posting the gems of the bunch on the blog.
So, post the number on a bathroom wall, sign me up for some kind of crazy telemarketer list... anything! Just try to make it funny.
In case you don't know the VMB number is 1-206-666-BELL.

DID donations
I was just thinking about something
today that might turn out to be an interesting project. I was
considering the possibility of "DID donations".
Someone would basically just sign up for a VoIP service (VoicePulse Connect, sixTel, etc) and let us use it. This would open up possibilities for us to get some international DIDs. I've wanted to do that for a while (especially the UK, Japan, and Australia) but we don't have the resources to keep buying DIDs.
If anyone is interested contact me.
BTW, thanks to the people that have donated so far. We really appreciate it.

Mirroring
Lately I've noticed a lot of people
running scripts to mirror my site. I cannot stress this
enough...
PLEASE DO THIS
Maybe that's not what you expected. I know a lot of people complain and say "Oh, it's hard on my system, etc". Screw that. Grab it all. I don't even have a robots.txt for this very reason. I want the data to be out there. Just try to not beat up the machine recklessly. Mirroring is one thing but hammering it is another.
If you ever feel bad about it just remember that I promised that I'd make the database open and a still haven't. That should make you really angry. :P
The serious reason of why I haven't done this is because I'm looking to do a redesign of the database. Something that'll easily support internationalization (I've been talking about it for a while), scanning project management, and several other neat tricks. Once that's done I'll open it all up so people can mess with it.
