Number submission updated

The number submission now shows the latest 50 submissions. Every time you submit a new number (or an update that is in the top 50) it will show up immediately on the list.

Start scanning! :D

Number submission back online

It has taken a long time (way too long) but number submission is back online!

The new system will automatically populate the description and number type fields if you have submitted the number before. Just type the number in and when it's complete you should see everything magically appear. The "Submit" button also changes to "Update" to give you some more visual feedback that you're changing an existing submission. Your updates only update your submission of a number. Any old submissions of that number by other people will be unchanged.

Let me know if you have troubles with it. So far in my minimal testing things look good but you never know. :)

Dear Cingular

Despite what you may think (tee hee hee) the BlackJack IS, in fact, a Smartphone. This isn't my blind claim but the claim of Microsoft. If you haven't heard of them you should check out their website since they actually made the operating system for this phone. Incidentally, that operating system is called Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone.

I understand that your method of determining Smartphone or PDA is completely arbitrary. For some reason BlackJack users must get a "PDA" plan while 3125 users (a phone with the same operating system but a smaller screen and no keyboard) can get a Smartphone plan. The price difference is pretty significant per month... I'm sure that has something to do with it.

In short, Cingular is a bunch of money grubbing bastards. Why else would you have 21 data plans?

Registration back online

Finally, there is some form of registration back online. Please bear with us as we still need to get number submission working.

What does registration get you without submissions? You can see the status of the PBX and you can log in to show people you're online (press 0 at the main menu).

If you haven't listened to this week's BRR then you should also know that the conferences in the 5xx range are now considered public. If you sign into the web interface you can see if any 5xx conferences are active. If the people aren't signed in they'll be listed as "Anonymous Coward" followed by their channel ID (the UNIX timestamp of when they called
plus a 3-digit number appended by Asterisk). Otherwise you'll see their Bell's Mind name.

Let me know if you like/hate/use/don't use the new features.

Creeping towards usability

As you may have noticed there have been some sneaky updates to the site. If you go to the NPA/NXX search you'll see "Login" at the top of the page. Yes, it should be separated and look nice... we'll get to that later. If you click that you should be able to log in now and see some
basic stats on your account (user ID, PIN, etc). If you're feeling motivated call 712-432-9021 and try to log in with those numbers. If the stars are properly aligned then you'll be dropped into a conference that is not accessible by the main PBX.

If you still don't have an account I'm working on that part of it. Be (a little more) patient.

Moving over to Java

We're moving over the Java. Links have changed and things are in a bit of disarray. E-mail me and let me know if anything is screwed up. Of course the stuff listed as "temp down" to the right is temporarily down. :P
