More SMS updates
We've been busy updating the text messaging code for the past few days. Unfortunately, since we added the BELLSMIND code we broke the other two codes (BMNPA and BMNXX). They have been fixed and everything should work fine now. We're working on setting up a way that you can send feedback right from your phone if you notice that something is amiss. More on that soon...
Also, if you'd like to get updates regarding the Bell's Mind system you can subscribe to the Bell's Mind textmark by sending "SUB BELLSMIND" to 41411. Any time there is a major bug fix or new feature added you'll get a short message about it. We promise that these updates will be infrequent and you can unsubscribe at any time by sending "UNSUB BELLSMIND" to 41411. Periodically we'll send information about new, unreleased features as well before they make it to the forums or blog.

Some interesting webstats
I just thought that it is interesting to note that this month two of the largest non-Google users of the site (by kbytes) are The Naval Logistics Library: Naval Supply Systems Command and Amazon's Amazon Web Services.
I can't really figure out the second one...

SMS number submission added
We've expanded our SMS feature-set today by offering number submissions over SMS! Here is how it works:
First, you'll need to log into your Bell's Mind account via SMS by texting "bellsmind login " to 41411. User ID is your numeric user ID that you can find on the "My Account" page.
Over the next few weeks this number will become increasingly important so make sure you remember it! You'll also need your randomly assigned six-digit PIN which you can find also on the "My Account" page.
Second, you should receive a confirmation that you were logged in successfully.
Third, text "bellsmind submit " to 41411 for any number that you want to submit. Numbers can not contain spaces but can have a leading 1 and/or dashes in the middle. The description can be up to 255 characters.
Fourth, you will receive confirmation that you number was submitted. It will be assigned in the database as a "Mobile submission". You can change this when you get back to a computer and sign onto the web site.
Hopefully this will make it easier to submit numbers when you're away from your machine. Let me know how it works for you.
Also, you'll remain logged in to the system until you text "bellsmind logout" to 41411. There's probably not any reason to have to do that but I added it just in case.

Canadian submissions work
I'm not sure how long it has been or if I ever announced it officially before but submissions of Canadian numbers work now. If you've wanted to submit any Canadian numbers then you can start submitting them now.

SMS feature added
Bell's Mind can now be reached via SMS! Text either BMNPA followed by an area code, or BMNXX followed by an area code and exchange to 41411 and you'll get a condensed version of the normal Bell's Mind search result.
For example, "BMNPA 310" or "BMNXX 914 761". Let me know if there are any problems.
